Sky-Caper Toon Shading Look Development

I thought I would share some of my look development for Sky-Caper as working up the toon shader for the main character “Suds” took a lot of trial and error. Looking back 4 years later I can see ways I could improve on my old methods but this paper could be of some use for any students looking to create a very flat 2D cartoon style in Maya.
